Bill King to Discuss Need for Scale at NTCA's Telecom Executive Forum
December 18, 2014 | Manchester, NH - Bill King, president and managing principal of JSI Capital Advisors, LLC, will present "How to Scale the Right Way" during the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association's Telecom Executive Forum on December 9, 2015 at the Westin Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. King will co-present with Denny Law, ceo and general manager of Golden West Telecommunications of Wall, South Dakota. Mr. King and Mr. Law will discuss creative and sustainable ways for rural and independent communications providers to achieve scale in their operations and how operating costs can be brought down in real and measurable ways.
"The erosion of traditional regulatory support mechanisms coupled with the rapid advance and evolution of communications technologies and competition are making it increasingly important for rural and independent communications providers to enhance their focus on financial and operational efficiencies," said Mr. King. "Small providers need to address internal cost inefficiencies while at the same time looking for opportunities to dilute unavoidable costs over additional products and services."
Mr. King and Mr. Law will discuss the principal areas rural providers can realize cost savings, examples of how small communications companies are working to achieve increased scale, and obstacles often encountered in trying to acheive scale and operational efficiencies. Mr. King and Mr. Law will also discuss existing and emerging efforts to make small communications look bigger through partnerships, affiliations and alternative financial structures.
